Description
Mistle Thrushes are known as Storm Cocks for their love of singing from the tops of trees -hurling their melancholy, halting song into the face of storms. “Blast be-ruffled”, Thomas Hardy put it…a symbol for us all in these violent times methinks.
Reading was so much a part of my own rural childhood, as was excellent and wide-ranging English teaching at school. Poetry in particular continues to be central to my own art-making, so I’m more than happy to offer this little print in support of the festival at Kestle which will take place during my solo exhibition there this summer
