Description
“This morning truly a ‘strange otherness’ – a Leopard moth. Fresh…almost damp. Emerging into the brief hour of cool-ness before the heat, after two or even three winters as a larva deep in the wood of a tree – likely the Bramley at the bottom of the garden. He will not feed for however long he has wings to fly. ‘Common’ the book says, but I see only one – perhaps.”
