The Antler Moth is a day-flying moth of high grassland. I made this small mezzotint in two different colours. Blue/black and a warm brown/black. Both are printed on Arches Moulin du Gué paper.
Nos. 1-20 printed in a blue/black. Then a further 10 are printed in a warm brown/black, numbered in Roman numerals l – X as is the convention. Making a total edition of 30 + two A/Ps

As we gradually climb out of winter, the blackbirds are still feasting on the hawthorn and crab apples outside the studio. With their extraordinary clear-eyed gaze, territorial squabbles, panicky evening calls and sharp outline they are, for me, a perennial subject and constant source of wonder and distraction.
