Description
Another collabortion with Kevin Mount of The Letter Press. This time a fold-out booklet with envelope wrapper to accompany four large drawings commissioned by RAMM Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, Exeter. The four drawings will be exhibited at ‘WILD’, the museum’s major Natural History exhibition from July 2025 to January 2026.
The Garden Tiger is a striking and once very common British moth that has seen a staggering 90% decline in numbers in recent years. Peter Marren’s excellent essay discusses extinction and the likely cause of the Garden Tiger’s disappearance from our fields and gardens. Aside from the drawings, my own contribution is a short meditation on the use of the black square as a signifier of grief and loss but also reveals alternative readings as suggested by Taoist ideas of absence as generative and pregnant with possibility
